Canola TILLING Database
Overview
Genetic diversity is a significant resource for crop improvement, allowing breeders a source of novel alleles that may provide desirable phenotypic traits. Canola is a valuable oilseed crop that can be further improved by modifying qualities such as protein or antinutrient content, while maintaining desired oil profiles. We have developed an ethyl methanesulfonate (EMS) mutagenized canola population of 1200, and identified and characterized induced genetic changes using exome sequencing.
The Canola TILLING database provides an interactive tool to identify canola lines with mutations in genes of interest and their predicted effect on protein function.
